Icedive.is
A SDI-TDI Dive Center
We are a locally owned dive center, planning dive courses and dive trips for those who wish. We teach technical diving, recreational diving, and plan dive tours.
We take an active part in Iceland’s dive community and try to plan dive expeditions to remote and unexplored parts of Iceland every year.
We are active in diving all year round, and winter only brings good things like ice diving and hot chocolate

Siggi
Icedive is run and owned by Sigurður J. Haraldsson, always called Siggi. Siggi is a TDI-SDI instructor. He learned to dive in 2004, in Thailand, and did his dry suit course the same year in Iceland. Since then, he has been an active diver. In 2007, he did his dive master course in Thailand, and in 2009, he became a PADI instructor in England. He has since then finished his technical PADI tec rec 50 and PADI Tec Rec Trimix Diver course and cave diving course with full deco in 2010. He finished his full cave diver course in 2018 and bought and learnt to dive a Pelagian RB in 2022.
In 2011, he took part in planning and organizing the dive to the wreck of the US Coast Guard Cutter Alexander Hamilton, where he was a support diver. Since then, he has f.e. taken part in an expedition into Iceland’s highlands in 2023, where unexplored craters and other previously explored site where dived, including the Tear of Odin. In 2024, he organized and led a team of divers to explore a cave that had been closed due to collapse for a few decades. The team managed to open the cave and explore new sections of it under the lava fields of Þjórsárhraun. Further expeditions are needed to complete the exploration of that cave.
Siggi is an SDI instructor and a TDI technical instructor. He is also an AIDA2 freediver and a HSE commercial diver.
In his spare time, he likes to dive with his Pelagian rebreather
Hrefna Sylvía
Hrefna Sylvía Sigurgeirsdóttir is an SDI diving instructor and Dive Master at Icedive.is, where she teaches scuba diving and first aid courses.
Hrefna first learned to dive in 1998 in Alaska. After a long break due to studies and other commitments, she returned to diving in 2022, completing a refresher course and the Advanced Open Water certification in Florida. After returning to Iceland, she completed her dry suit course and has been actively diving ever since.
In 2023 she transitioned to sidemount diving and completed Advanced Nitrox and Decompression Procedures training. In 2024 she completed her Dive Master training with Siggi and later her SDI Instructor training in Budapest.
Hrefna has taken part in several exploration expeditions since 2023, including an expedition into the Icelandic highlands and a cave exploration project under the lava fields of Þjórsárhraun in 2024. In 2025 she also participated in an expedition led by Bernie Chowdhury.
She is also a AIDA2 freediver.

Mikki
Mikael Dubik (Mikki) started diving in 2020 right before the Covid pandemic and took the Open Water course in Lima, Peru and was hooked ever since. Since then Mikki has become a certified Technical Diver and Rescue Diver with Siggi. Mikki helps out Siggi and Hrefna whenever he can with Icedive.
Mikki was part of the Icedive.is expedition since 2023, starting with the expedition into the highlands. The plan is to become an instructor in the future.
