Technical Diving – Extraordinary Adventures Below the Surface
Iceland offers an incredible variety of opportunities for technical diving, whether you dive on
CCR, sidemount, or with a twinset.
Kleifarvatn
Located just a short drive from Reykjavík, Kleifarvatn is one of Iceland’s deepest and most
exciting dive sites. Reaching depths of 92 meters, it offers an extraordinary variety of
underwater landscapes: rock formations, dramatic fissures, geothermal activity, and stunning
scenery that makes every descent an adventure.
The Strýtur in Eyjafjörður
At the bottom of Eyjafjörður, rare underwater chimneys rise like giant towers from another
world. Standing at around 65 meters, these unique geological formations stretch dramatically
from the seabed towards the surface. This otherworldly dive site is a must-see for any technical
diver.
Hvalvatn and Highland Gems
The Icelandic Highlands hide many remote and mysterious lakes, perfect for technical diving,
including Hvalvatn. These locations offer serene surroundings, crystal-clear freshwater, and a
diving experience that combines tranquility with adventure.
El Grillo, Seyðisfjörður
This historic World War II shipwreck rests in Seyðisfjörður and is a popular destination for
technical divers. Please note that access has been restricted in recent years due to decisions by
local port authorities.
