The Experience

From the submerged fissures of Þingvellir to a small pool in the highlands, this tour takes you through contrasting landscapes above and below the surface.

The Tear of Odin is the centrepiece of the journey. Reaching it is part of the adventure: travel by jeep, then continue on foot with your diving equipment. One dive gives you time to explore this compact site and take in its underwater surroundings.

Stay at the same hotel for both nights, with breakfast before each day’s departure. Finish with a day dedicated to the South Coast, allowing time to enjoy the scenery on the way back to Reykjavík.

Your 3-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Davíðsgjá, Silfra & the Journey East

2 guided freshwater dives

Leave Reykjavík and travel to Þingvellir National Park for dives at Davíðsgjá and Silfra.

Explore submerged rock formations and fissures in clear freshwater before preparing for the journey east. After diving and packing the equipment, continue along the South Coast towards Kirkjubæjarklaustur.

Arrive at your hotel in Kirkjubæjarklaustur or the surrounding area, where you will stay for two nights.

This is a full day of diving and travel, with stops coordinated around the day’s schedule.

Day 2 – Into the Highlands: Tear of Odin

1 guided freshwater dive

After breakfast, set out by jeep towards the highlands.

From the parking area, continue on foot to the Tear of Odin, carrying your diving equipment across uneven ground. Allow approximately 20 minutes or more each way, depending on conditions and the group’s pace.

At the water’s edge, prepare for the tour’s signature dive. The Tear of Odin is a small site that can be explored in a single dive, giving you time to discover its underwater landscape without rushing.

After the dive, carry your equipment back to the vehicles and return to the same hotel for your second night.

Day 3 – Waterfalls & the South Coast

Travel and sightseeing day

Enjoy breakfast before beginning the journey back to Reykjavík.

Today is dedicated to the landscapes of the South Coast, with planned stops at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss. Additional scenic stops may be included as time and conditions allow.

No diving is scheduled, leaving time to enjoy the journey and the waterfalls before your tour ends in Reykjavík.
